Volunteering

TEWLS is a women's legal service run by women. Darwin based female lawyers who are committed to social justice, especially women's access to justice, are invited to volunteer at TEWLS to assist us in the provision of free legal advice at our free Wednesday evening advice clinic.

On average, volunteers attend one advice clinic per month for approximately 1 hour. Volunteering is flexible and does not include the Christmas period, as we are generally closed from Christmas to the New Year. As a volunteer solicitor at TEWLS, you will contribute to providing an invaluable service to the women of Darwin.

Volunteering with TEWLS also offers an exciting opportunity for law students to get involved at a grass roots level and to develop their client interview skills, working alongside experienced solicitors. You may also apply to complete your Practical Legal Placement with TEWLS.
