Dawn House Inc provides services to women and children escaping domestic and family violence in Darwin with the women’s shelter, domestic violence community education service, and domestic violence support, including counselling.
DAIWS provides safe and culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are homeless or escaping family violence. The services provided include support, referral, outreach and domestic violence crisis accommodation.
Ironbark Indigenous Support (IIS) is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander specific Domestic and Family Violence support service in the Darwin and Palmerston areas (including the Town Camps). IIS facilitate support to clients/families who are experiencing DFV or who have in the past and provide Intensive Case Management and collaboration with other support services, establish supported referral pathways relevant to the client’s needs, and advocacy.
Provides crisis accommodation and case-management support for families escaping domestic violence. Support includes advocacy, referral and assistance with attending legal appointments, court hearings, Centrelink services and other support services. Outreach support is also provided for families not accommodated at the centre.
Ruby Gaea provides specialist post-initial trauma sexual assault counselling, education and training service.
The Darwin Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) provides medical, forensic and counselling services to anyone who may have experienced any form of sexual assault (acute, recent or historical). Services available to adults and children (female and male). There is no fee for services.
Catherine Booth House is a safe crisis centre for women 18 years and over. It provides crisis accommodation and intensive case management for women at risk or experiencing family and domestic violence.

CAWLS provides free legal advice for all women in Central Australia and can help with information about legal issues, legal advice and representation, referral to support services, community legal education and law reform advocacy.
The Katherine Women’s Information and Legal Service (KWILS) is a not-for-profit Community Legal Centre based in Katherine, Northern Territory, providing women in the Katherine and Big Rivers regions, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, access to free and professional legal services. KWILS provide community legal education and undertake advocacy and law reform, and provide outreach services to remote women in the Katherine region.
The Darwin Community Legal Service (DCLS) is a free, confidential service that provides legal services across the Northern Territory . DCLS offers a range of general and specialist services, including the Tenants’ Advice Service, Seniors and Disability Rights Service, and Veteran’s Legal Service.
The Domestic Violence Legal Service is a free service for victims and people at risk of domestic and family violence. DVLS provides confidential legal advice and representation services for domestic violence order (DVO) matters, including a duty lawyer service and community legal education.
The Environmental Defenders Office (NT) (EDONT) is a community-based legal service practising in planning and environmental law and providing legal advice & advocacy on public-interest planning & environmental law for individuals and groups. The service also provides education for community groups and engages in law reform.
The Law Society Northern Territory controls the affairs of the legal profession in the Northern Territory. The Law Society Northern Territory offers services to the community including the handling of complaints about lawyers and coordinating community legal education events such as Law Week. The Society cannot give legal advice, however can provide a list of firms who have identified that they specialise in particular areas of law.
The North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Services (NAAFLS) is a Family Violence Prevention Legal Service that provides culturally sensitive legal assistance, casework, advice, support and a counselling service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are victims/survivors of family violence or sexual assault across the Top End, East Arnhem, and Big Rivers regions of the NT.
The North Australian Aboriginal Legal Services (NAAJA) is an Aboriginal Legal Service providing a range of legal services for Indigenous people across the Northern Territory, including legal help (criminal and civillaw), community legal education and advocacy for the rights of Aboriginal people before the law.
The NT Legal Aid Commission provides free and confidential legal services to people across the Northern Territory. They provide legal advice and representation (subject to eligibility) in criminal, family, and civil law, duty lawyer services, family dispute resolution, community legal education and contribute to policy and law reform.

ShelterMe is an online directory of services for homeless Territorians, operated by NT Shelter and funded by the NT Government. There are no fees to list your service on ShelterMe, however individuals wishing to access listed services should be aware that some service providers may charge fees.
