The Top End Women's Legal Service Inc (TEWLS) is a non-profit organisation that provides free and confidential legal information, advice, legal representation, referral, community legal education, and advocacy on issues of importance to women across the Top End. TEWLS is a community legal centre and is a member of the National Association of Community Legal Centres, as well as the Northern Territory Community Legal Centre Forum.
Free legal advice clinics
Appointments are available as follows:
- Every third Wednesday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Palmerston Community Care Centre;
- Wednesdays from 5:15pm to 6:15pm in our Darwin Office;
- By appointment during business hours in our Darwin office; and
- On community, within the Darwin Correctional Precinct, or at the Adult Migrant English Program on specified days - please contact our office for further details.
TEWLS regularly provides advice, information and community legal education to women in the following communities and outreach locations:

If you have a legal problem and wish to see a solicitor, please contact our office on (08) 8982 3000 or freecall 1800 234 441 for an appointment. If you are unable to attend a clinic in person, we may be able to arrange an appointment over the phone. We are able arrange interpreters free of charge.
